Mandana's life was full of challenges, but she faught hard to never give up. Her uphill battle started when she lost her mother at the age of 9 months. She would always say she felt like something was missing from her life. Mandana became homeless at the age of 15 and sadly she became a victim of those who prey on young teenagers. After years of abuse she was able to get herself to a better place in life; she was a survivor of human trafficking. While trying to move on from her past she faced many hardships. Despite everything she had been through, she was blessed to have three beautiful children. It was in 2023 that she found herself at a crossroads, facing a mental breakdown. Mandana called on the mental health system for help but unfortunately her children were taken away from her. After months of court battles and therapy she faced the heartbreaking possibility of losing them forever. Due to this very reason she made a decision to end her own life. She suffered from a disorder called dissociative identity disorder or DID in short. A disorder characterized by the presence of two or more distinct personality states. Dissociative identity disorder, previously called multiple personality disorder, is usually a reaction to trauma as a way to help a person avoid bad memories. At Fresco's T-Connect, we are passionate about bringing awareness to mental health, specifically suicide prevention. Our clothing brand serves as a platform to educate others about this disease, raise awareness and continue the battle for suicide prevention. We believe that by sharing Mandana's story, we can help others who may be struggling with DID or any other mental health disease. We believe in the power of community and the impact we can make when we come together. Our brand was inspired by Mandana's passion for helping others in need, and we plan to continue her journey by spreading awareness through streetwear. Our designs are inspired by the people and places that have influenced us, and we hope they will inspire you too.
